This massive redeployment of senior police officers in the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) does not come as a surprise to the discerning eye. Over the last three months, the Zanu PF regime has promoted several military officers, and placed journalists from state controlled media such as the Sunday mail and the Herald , under arrest, in the final run up to the Zanu PF December  2015 congress at Victoria Falls that will run from December 7th to December 13th.
Mugabe will be facing his toughest ever people’s congress, with a massively fractured party, and rumblings for the 92 year old despot to address the issue of his succession and step down.
He has managed to field his family in cabinet around him, like his nephew Patrick Zhuwao, the Youth Empowerment Minister, his cousin Ignatius Chombo , the Home Affairs Minister, and is well known to be pushing for his former secretary, and wife the First lady, grace Mugabe to succeed him. She, to everyone is now the Defacto president.
It is therefore unsurprising why Mugabe is flexing his muscle across the military, Police and State propaganda, the very instruments that he needs to sing from the same hym book as Zanu PF and show unquestioning allegiance to all his machinations. Suffice it is to say that Mugabe and his wife are dancing for joy and having the last laugh at the docile nature  displayed by Zimbabweans, hence their ability to do as they please.  By Sibusiso Ngwenya
